With more than $100K in scholarships and grants, Susan plans to attend the University of Dayton in the fall where she intends to study Mechanical Engineering.

She was also accepted to the University of California San Diego, Saint Louis University, Marquette University, University of Rochester, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a host of scholarships and other financial assistance.

In her four years at IC Catholic Prep, Susan participated in numerous extracurricular activities, including leadership roles as the President of Student Council, Vice-President for National Honor Society and captain of the Soccer, Tennis and Relay for Life teams. She was also active on the Math Team and the Academic Challenge Team. She earned numerous Academic All-Conference Honors and participated in state-level competitions. She was honored with the City of Elmhurst Youth Service Award and was recognized as an Illinois State Scholar and AP Scholar Award recipient.

She came to IC Catholic Prep from Visitation Catholic School.

Susan says that she had many great experiences here at IC Catholic Prep. However, two of her favorite experiences include going to state for soccer in 2017 and going on the Habitat for Humanity spring break trip in 2018 and 2019. She goes on to note that her sophomore year soccer season was the best athletic season she’s ever experienced. Susan loved her coaches and teammates, but also was part of the first soccer team in ICCP history to advance to state. And, she credits her experience with Habitat for Humanity as life changing—where she witnessed first-hand the impact of selfless giving.

Susan hopes to work for innovative companies like Tesla or Google where she can apply her mechanical engineering skills in ways that revolutionize the world, yet she remains humble in wanting to also serve her community with her newfound skills and travel the world.
