Welcome our newest Business and Technology Department Chair, Mr. Todd Fisher. He has been a teacher for twenty-two
years, including his last job at Walter Christian Academy, before switching over to the IC Catholic Prep community. Some of the new changes he has experienced were: longer
walks from the parking lot, the process of taking attendance and the Plus Portals system. I had the pleasure to sit down and talk with Mr. Fisher about his experience so far at ICCP. He stated, “All in all, it has been a positive change.” His dream was finally fulfilled, which was to become a ICCP teacher and be apart of the ICCP community. Mr. Fisher expressed his overall joy for making the change to Catholic high school: “IC Catholic Prep produces good leaders. Now that I’m here, I am very happy.¨
Mr. Fisher is going to be very active at ICCP as he will be involved in extra-curricular activities such as being the girl’s head varsity basketball coach and leading our BPA (Business
Professionals of America) this school year. Outside the walls of ICCP, Mr. Fisher says he loves fishing, camping, spending time with family, traveling, and cooking. Aside from these hobbies, he mentioned how he knew since fifth grade that he wanted to be a high school teacher. His outstanding high school teacher influenced him and he loved the idea of doing the same thing for other, future students.
Now twenty-two years later, he has become that high school teacher. Mr. Fisher loves doing this and when I asked him, “After 22 years ,what techniques do you plan on ringing?” He simply answered, “I plan on bringing myself as a regular teacher. I won’t bring new techniques I will be myself and help these kids be the best version of themselves.” He says everyday he will work hard and give it one hundred percent. All in all, it is clear that he’s aligning with our mission to create and motivate the independent thinkers of ICCP.
