Tennis Senior Night, Knight Times

On Thursday, October 3rd, the tennis team had their senior night, honoring six seniors: Brooklyn Campos, Claire Curtain, Daniela Murillo, Cate Radoha, Olivia Slavin, and Rachel Simonides. Before the matches went out on the courts, the seniors were recognized with their great achievements and improvements by the coaches.

They were each given a gift basket filled with a picture of the team, a blanket, their initials painted on a tennis ball, a jar of candy, and individual letters written by each teammate. The baskets were given to the seniors by their teammates and pictures were being taken. They were so grateful for their gifts, which they opened with both excitement and sadness, knowing this was the last time they were playing tennis at ICCP. This senior night will be one for the seniors to remember for many years. One of the seniors Cate Rodaha stated, “My tennis senior night is something I’ll cherish forever. The gifts were thoughtful and fun, but what made them special were the individual notes each senior received!” She expressed such appreciation, saying, “I’ll never be able to express the gratitude I have toward the tennis program and the teammates I now and will forever call family!”

Afterwards,  the team gathered together and ate chicken tenders and other snacks. The courts were decorated with posters for each senior, made by both their teammates and their parents. Then Ridgewood, the opponent showed up and we recognized their seniors with a tennis ball can filled with candy. The matches started at 4:15 P.M. and everyone began to play with high energy out on the court. The team took the win 3-2, and everyone was so happy they won on this important night! The seniors could not express enough how grateful they were for everything the tennis program did to show how much they are appreciated will be missed! I really enjoyed this season with the team and I, too, will miss the seniors so much next year!
