What Music Can Do For You

There are several reasons why a person should consider studying music. First off, music relaxes you and your brain. You know that feeling when you listen to music while doing homework? It sends messages from your ears to your brain, telling it to relax.

Music can broaden your creativity by making your own beat and your own lyrics. Later on down the line, it could help sharpen your memory because you will eventually memorize the songs after playing them hundreds of times. Studies show that in studying any type of music program, your social skills will develop more than normal because endorphins release and can go from one person singing to two, and then to five thousand. It also boosts your confidence, especially if you play in front of people. In the future, depending on how much you like music, you could have the potential to become a music therapist, a musician, a record producer, or teacher.

Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.

I personally recommend studying some type of music program ICCP has to offer, whether its band, choir, guitar, piano, etc. Most importantly, you will have fun and learn in a meaningful way.
