Annie Guinan ’20 Believes in Hard Work

IC Catholic Prep Student Spotlight

Annie is one of eleven recipients of the Monsignor Plunkett Distinguished Scholar Award – Class of 2020. This honor is the highest academic award given to ICCP senior students for their outstanding achievements and their commitment to academic excellence.

Indiana University is among her top choices to attend in the fall with plans to double major in Business and Engineering. Although she has not decided on a specific professional industry, she is determined to be successful. However, what is of the utmost concern to Annie is that she pursues professional work that allows her to be of service to others.

Annie received acceptance to Boston College, University of Notre Dame, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Virginia, the University of Colorado, Boulder, and Purdue University as well as scholarships and other financial assistance.

In her four years at IC Catholic Prep, Annie participated in numerous extracurricular activities, including leadership roles as the Captain of the Soccer, Basketball and Cross-Country teams, Vice President of the National Honor Society, Co-President of the Math Team and an Officer in the Student Council.

She came to IC Catholic Prep from Immaculate Conception Grade School.

Annie is a 2020 Illinois State Scholar. She describes her participation in sports and being a student-athlete among her top memories at IC Catholic Prep. “Every one of my teams has had a significant influence on my life, and I will always cherish the friendships and memories that I’ve created over the past four-years, well three and a half, to be more precise.”
