Each month we will feature a member of our alumni (the League of Knights) to highlight their accomplishments after graduating from IC Catholic Prep. This month, we spoke to alumnus, Andres Guzman, class of 2016. Andres attended Triton College and graduated with an associate’s degree. He is currently attending Governors State University where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications. He is also in the process of becoming an Illinois State Police Trooper.
ICCP: What was your favorite subject in school?
Andres: I enjoyed history because it is important to understand how this country came to be and to learn from previous mistakes.
ICCP: What is your best memory from your time at IC?
Andres: My senior year of high school when we went on an 11-game winning streak in football.
ICCP: What are some projects or efforts that you have worked on?
Andres: A recent highlight that comes to mind is the opportunity that I had to volunteer for my local town’s census initiative. Here, we were able to provide masks and hand sanitizer to those who needed it all while spreading information on the importance of filling out the census.
ICCP: What is one other thing you would like to share with IC alumni?
Andres: The fact that IC is such a family based environment has really allowed me to grow and develop as a person. I have deepened my faith and have also helped those around me work to reach their full potential.
