IC Catholic Prep Students Achieve Honors on Advanced Placement Exams

Thirty-Three AP Scholar Awards for Academic Excellence and
Eleven Students Scored a ‘Five’ on one or more Advanced Placement Exams

ELMHURST, Ill. – October 11, 2022 – IC Catholic Prep (ICCP) announced today that thirty-three AP students qualified for Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams during the 2021-2022 school year. Eleven students scored a ‘five’ on one or more of the AP exams they took.

Advanced Placement is accepted by more than 3,800 colleges and universities worldwide for college credit, advanced placement, or both, based on successful AP Exam grades. Research consistently shows that AP students who score a 3 or higher on AP Exams typically experience greater academic success in college, and higher graduation rates.

“We’re exceptionally proud of our students at IC Catholic Prep for their commitment to our AP Program,” said Stephen Davidson, Principal. “Our students put in a great deal of effort achieving exemplary scores to earn credit towards college courses.”

Eight students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award, granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams:

  • Elissa Fogarty (University of Wisconsin-Madison)
  • Declan Kenneally (University of Dallas)
  • Nora Kenny (Boston College University)
  • Gianna Pretzie (University of Alabama)
  • Ricardo Suarez (Class of 2023)
  • Patrick Tomasiak (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign)
  • Eva Wojcik (Class of 2023)

The following students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams:

  • Ava Buscemi (Class of 2023)
  • Natasha DeRose (Class of 2023)
  • Kalev Kilgast (Class of 2023)
  • Paige Leatherwood (College of DuPage)
  • Ashley Zwolinski (Class of 2023)
