Knight of Jewels Q&A

Q. What is Knight of Jewels (KOJ)?

A. Knight of Jewels is IC Catholic Prep’s (ICCP) largest annual fundraising event. This event provides funding for our students and their education each year. Private schools like ICCP rely on fundraising events to manage the costs of providing the best Catholic education possible, which is increasingly important in these turbulent times.

The Knight of Jewels event was established over 50 years ago when parents and supporters of the school joined together to ensure that IC remained a pillar of spiritual and educational enlightenment in the Elmhurst community.  The KOJ is typically an in-person Gala with dinner, keynote speaker, auction items and entertainment – all to raise money for our students.  This year the Knight of Jewels will be held virtually, and will be a live, interactive event where you can chat with attendees and bid on live auction items or raise your paddle in support of our students in real time.

The look of this year’s KOJ event may have changed, but the spirit behind Knight of Jewels remains the same– supporting our IC Catholic Prep community, school and students by raising the most money possible and GIVING LIKE A KNIGHT!!!

Q. When is the Knight of Jewels?

A. The Knight of Jewels is being held on Saturday, March 20th from 7-8 PM. There is no cost to attend this year, so please plan on joining us for the fun!

Q. How do I participate in Knight of Jewels?

A. Just like most things this year, sometimes it takes multiple pieces of technology to accomplish the goal. To buy raffle tickets prior to the event, visit: https://one.bidpal.net/koj2021.

Then, to register for the Live event, please visit: 1cau.se/aU2.

Q. What is the theme of this year's Knight of Jewels?

A. The theme of this year’s KOJ is Honoring Our Heroes. We are grateful to the individuals in our community who kept us safe over the past year. Those that served in essential roles, caring for those fighting COVID-19, teaching our children, and helping us continue on with our lives while staying safe. For this year’s events we want to honor those heroes.

We want to acknowledge all of our IC heroes and we need your help to do it. Share your hero’s story on social media, tag them, and add #ICCPHeroes to your post.

Q. How will attending the Knight of Jewels support ICCP students?

A. We hope each and every one of you from our ICCP Community will participate in some way to support the Knight of Jewels.  Money raised at the KOJ event will go directly back into the school to support our students’ day-to-day needs, from curriculum development to campus ministry, teachers’ salaries, athletics, Christian service, fine arts, student activities, building maintenance, and more.

There are multiple ways to participate (no contribution is too small):

  • $ 25 raffle ticket for chance to win one of our Hero Raffle packages
  • $ 50 raffle ticket for chance to a Peloton
  • $ 200 for a Golden Raffle ticket (cash prize of $5,000 and $2,500)
  • Auction Items to bid on
  • Donations in any amount
  • Event Sponsorship opportunities

Q. Why am I receiving emails from parents about the Knight of Jewels?

A. Knight of Jewels has historically been a parent-run event with the support of ICCP’s staff. Parent co-chairs are reaching out to members of the ICCP community to inform them about KOJ and ask for participation in the auctions and raffles. This year we are fortunate to have 4 co-chair couples: Jen & Michael Hall, Rebecca & Ian Levy, Donna (’86 grad) & Joe Laluya and Katie (’90 grad) & Matt McDonough (’87 grad).

Q. Can I sponsor the Knight of Jewels?

A. Yes! Sponsors are a vital part of the Knight of Jewels. To see what sponsorship levels are available and the benefits, visit https://one.bidpal.net/koj2021

Q. Who do I contact with questions?

A. Please contact Tracie Ortman,  Director of Alumni Relations & Special Events at tortman@iccatholicprep.org or 630-530-3491.
