IC Catholic Prep Summer Course Offering: Summer Physical Education

IC Catholic Prep is happy to announce a new summer course offering: Summer Physical Education.

The course will be taught at Plunkett Field in June. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are able to take PE for credit in order to accommodate academic schedules and allow students to pursue additional elective courses during the school year.

Students will receive information next week during class meetings and will be able to sign up after one on one meetings with their counselors. We anticipate high levels of interest and spots will be limited. For more information, visit our website.

Summer Physical Education Course Description – $200.00

Enrollment form and payment due April 8th, 2022 to the Main Office. Checks payable to IC Catholic Prep

This course is open to all Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.

This course focuses on health and skill-related components through the performance of individual and team sports, recreational games, and strength and conditioning. This course will build upon Physical Education 1, where students will gain a deeper understanding of the health benefits of regular physical activity and of a long-term exercise program. In addition, as students work through the course, they will learn about the many aspects of physical fitness, the importance of flexibility, cardiovascular health, muscle and strength training, and realistic goal setting. With an emphasis on outdoor activities, this course strives to promote a sustainable, long-term enjoyment of physical activity.  When considering taking the ICCP Summer PE course, please know:

  • Class will be primarily held outdoors at Plunkett Field on West Avenue (weather permitting). Alternate locations may be provided by the Instructor.
  • Students must wear the ICCP issued PE Uniform daily to class.
  • Daily attendance is mandatory in order to earn credit for the course.
  • Students are financially responsible for the cost of the course.
  • Students should bring a water bottle.
